Queen Charlotte Food Bank

Islands Wellness Society adopted the food bank during the summer of 2013. It has been a tremendous undertaking and we want to acknowledge all the people who have worked tirelessly over the last eight years to make it a viable service to the communities of Haida Gwaii. Our mission is to “Feed the People” who need a little extra help along the way.

We work with Gwaii Co-op, and City Centre stores, as well as other local food programs and gardeners to provide as much fresh meat and produce as we can. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that help make distribution possible each month.

All you need to do to receive Food bank subsidy is call 250-559-4100 and leave your name, number of people in household, contact number, any allergies and specify the community you will be picking up from (QC or Skidegate).

Pick-up happens at two locations: the QC Adult Club House or Skidegate United Church on the dates and times specified on message line.

Donations may be dropped off at Islands Wellness Society during office hours or contact 250-559-8843 if you have donations you need picked up.
