Biliary Atresia Home Screening Program

Provides program information and resources for parents of newborns to screen for biliary atresia, a rare but serious liver disease that begins to affect newborns in the first month of life. Parents are asked to check their newborn’s stool colour against a colour card every day for the first month after birth. If they see an abnormal stool colour, they are to call or email the Biliary Atresia Home Screening Program directly.more info

Breastfeeding Support Group

Provides an informal, voluntary, drop-in program that is free of charge. Being operated under a strength-based philosophy, the program is facilitated by a public health nurse. It encourages parents/caregivers to be proactively involved in their child's health by monitoring growth by weighing and measuring babies, accessing health care information, and supporting and providing opportunities for networking with one another.more info

Lactation Consultant Services

Provides breastfeeding support and education to clients either face to face, or by telephone contact. Consultant also makes rounds daily on inpatient maternal-child services (maternity, NICU, and paediatrics). Clients are seen by self-request or on the request of family, or healthcare professionals such as general practitioners, physicians, medical students, public health nurses, midwives, and doulas.more info
