Prenatal Counselling
Provides prenatal education, follow-up and support.
Postnatal Mother and Infant Care
Postnatal visits following the discharge of a newborn, including physical assessments of mom and infant; counselling on breastfeeding, baby care, and assesses emotional status of mom. Referrals are made from the maternity wards in hospital, for all moms with newborns.
Breastfeeding Support Group
An informal, voluntary, free program, facilitated by a public health nurse. Encourages parents/caregivers to monitor growth by weighing and measuring babies. Provides parents a community.
Child Health Passport
A booklet for parents to record important health information about their child, including height and weight; illnesses; accidents; allergies; hospitalizations; immunizations; and test results.
Toddler's First Steps
Provides information about children ages six months to three years, including on child development; healthy eating; child health and well-being; parenting; and safety.
Preventive Public Health Dental Program
Provides preventative oral health services within the community setting with a primary focus on the prevention of early childhood caries (tooth decay) in children less than six years of age.
Family Support
One-to-one public health nursing assistance and guidance about parents' concerns and goals. Provides information about child growth and development; nutrition; parenting; and social support.
