PEACE Program: Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment (formerly Children Who Witness Abuse Program)
PEACE counsellors support children and youth (3 to 18 years of age) through individual and group sessions to:
- Identify their feelings and express them in healthy ways
- Recognize their strengths and increase their self-confidence
- Understand what abuse is and that they are not responsible
- Identify support networks and develop a safety plan
- Explore stereotypes and myths about relationships and about violence in the media
- Develop conflict resolution skills

Parents whose children are in the custody of the MCFD can visit in a safe and supportive environment to ensure that important contact is kept throughout the process. |
Provides resources, guidance and access to additional child care support funds for children with developmental delays who require the use of day care centers. |
