Women's Counselling

Individual or group counselling for women aged 19 or older. If you are under the age of 19 and are living an adult lifestyle you are considered eligible for this service. The program:

  • specializes in support for women who are experiencing a power imbalance in intimate relationships, or have experienced historical abuse
  • promotes safety, voice, and choice
  • knows that women are the experts of their lives and works with you to build on your strengths
  • has a foundation of respect, connection, hope, and healing.

Discovering Healthy Relationships This program dispels common myths surrounding family violence and marital abuse, and lets children who have experienced abuse know that they are not alone.
Dunmore Place Transition House 24-Hour Emergency Shelter. A safe and supportive shelter in Kitimat for women and children experiencing domestic violence, abuse, and/or crises in their lives.
Food Share Distributes food to those in need, as well as educating the community about food and nutrition. works with communities and schools to deliver healthy food and food education.
Outreach Worker and Supportive Counsellor The Outreach Worker offers supportive counselling to women who have been abused, are currently in an abusive relationship, or for women who want help in their lives.
