Mental Health & Addictions Advisory Committee

Join the MHAAC Committee! Are you someone with lived experience of mental illness and / or substance use, or are you a friend, famiy member, or community ally? Your voice matters!

The Mental Health and Addictions Advisory Committee or MHAAC (and their sub-committee Consumer and Family Initiative Funds Committee / CFIF) meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Terrace Health Unit. Meetings are relaxed, supportive, and about an hour long.

  • Share your voice and ideas
  • Help guide and support local mental health projects
  • Learn about and vote on funding for education, recreation, and wellness programs
  • Subcommittee opportunities available for the CFIF (Consumer and Family Initiative Funds Committee)
  • Treasurer Role also currently openĀ

Mental Health Family Resource Centre We provide resources to family members and anyone in a caring relationship with someone living with a serious mental illness.
Strengthening Families Together Strengthening Families Together (SFT) is a free 6 session course for families, friends and caregivers who have a loved one living with any mental illness, a diagnosis is not required. This course is held in person and open to families anywhere in the Northwest region. Our next SFT program will be held in Fall 2025 and/or Spring 2026. Please contact us for more information and/or to register.
Virtual Family Support Group Monthly virtual Family Support Group for families, friends and / or caregivers of a loved one with mental illness or substance use disorder.
