Strengthening Families Together

Strengthening Families Together (SFT) is a 6 session course for the families, friends, and caregivers of individuals living with any mental illness. A diagnosis is not required. The course, provided by two trained family peer facilitators / educators, offers:


  • • reliable information on the major mental illnesses and treatments
  • • information about local support services
  • • information about the mental health and criminal justice systems
  • • information about income and housing supports
  • • support and tools for maximizing self-care
  • • empathy building exercises
  • • communication tools
  • • an opportunity for families to share experiences, challenges, and strengths with one another in a safe, supportive environment
Participants will have the choice to attend either in-person or virtually in our hybrid format.

Hours of Operation

Regular hours: Classes are scheduled for 2.5 hours approximately once a week for 6 weeks.

Next classes: Spring 2026

Walk-in hours: 9am - 4pm Monday to Thursday but appointments are recommended as we frequently work elsewhere in the community.
